Reactivation Option Available for Expired Certification

If your certification expired within the last 2 years, you are eligible to use the reactivation option offered by ONCB to regain your credential. You must demonstrate completion of 20 contact hours of continuing education in clinical orthopaedics for each year or part of a year since credential expiration (20 hours for up to 1 year, 40 hours for 1-2 years’ expiration). In addition, you must complete the one-page application (download reactivation application) and provide a statement of your plans for professional development for the 5-year period of certification (download reactivation policy). Fee to be submitted with the applicant is the same as current examination fees ($275 for NAON members, $390 for non-members). Application must be submitted no later than June 30 in the second year of your credential expiration (e.g., June 30, 2011, for certification expiring June 30, 2009). Call ONCB (888-561-6622) with questions about the reactivation process.
